August 16 – 22

My oldest sister came from Southern Utah to visit for a couple days. It was fun to see her and her family.

Mark went spotlighting for predators late Monday night. They saw one skunk and two raccoons. He had a Technical Advisory Group (TAG) meeting this week as well. They discussed how birds affect nutrient cycling in the Great Salt Lake. Mark’s professor gave him a copy of the textbook they wrote a chapter for. It’s Mark’s first published work!

The smoke from wildfires has been really bad this week. I hope it will clear out soon!

Trying new, healthy recipes has become a hobby of mine. This week a friend gave me pasta made from chickpeas. It was delicious! I made a sauce by puréeing a red bell pepper, tomatoes, and garlic. We also tried cooking shrimp in our air fryer. I love making nutritious and delicious meals. Luckily Mark also enjoys eating healthy and is always game for trying something new!
