July 11 – 17

Mark finished searching for nests this week. Only 7 out of the 126 nests they were watching successfully hatched. Now they will start doing vegetation surveys. That means they will measure the type of vegetation and the height of vegetation around the nests.

I met with my BYUI students over Zoom throughout the week. I love this end of semester meeting because my students report on their experiences teaching their parenting classes. It’s always fun to hear their insights and celebrate their successes. A few students thanked me and that made me very happy too.

Monday was also my first day working in the office (for WebAIM) since March 2020. I was not looking forward to going back, but it was really fun to see my supervisor and other team members in person again! I just have to go into the office on meeting days from now on.

Flynn and I walked with my friend Regan and her dog Champ this week. And on Saturday Mark joined us as we hiked the Bonneville Shoreline trail together. It was a lot of fun!

Flynn asks to dig in the sand volleyball court every time we walk by it now!

Our garden is still having a hard time with the heat. It’s been about 95 degrees every day and we haven’t had rain for months. We did get some bell peppers this week though! We ate them on cauliflower crust pizza and they were delicious!
